CER Notes - Student Note-Taking Guide

Encourage students to take notes to document their learning while they complete Penda activities screen-by-screen. This process will help students digest information more thoroughly while identifying both known and unknown vocabulary, main ideas, supporting details, and key concepts. Students can then use their notes when attempting the activity over again to try to achieve a higher score. Writing within the content area also supports ELA standards and is proven to positively impact the retention of information.

We recommend using one note-taking guide per science standard - not one guide for each individual activity.
