2. CAPTURE DATA
Penda does the work for you! Penda automatically grades each activity a student completes and reports the results to both the student and teacher. Teachers can see data in real-time through their teacher account by ACCESSING REPORTS - Class Mastery Report, Assignment Mastery Report, Student Mastery Report, or by creating a custom report.- Class Mastery Report, Assignment Mastery Report, Student Mastery Report, or by creating a custom report.
3. ANALYZE DATA
Reflect on student data contained in the Class Mastery Report and/or Student Mastery Report. DETERMINE HOW MANY GROUPS OF LEARNERS ARE COMPRISED IN THE DATA SET (i.e. 3 levels of learners - low, medium, high; not mastered, partially mastered, mastered) AND HOW TO PLACE STUDENTS INTO INTERVENTION GROUPS. Create group lists on paper or digitally by identifying what group each student should be placed into.
4. CREATE RTI ACTION PLAN
Sign-in to a Penda teacher account and CREATE INTERVENTION GROUPS (i.e. low, medium, high; red, yellow, green) for each class period necessary. MOVE STUDENTS INTO AN INTERVENTION GROUP. BROWSE/SEARCH PENDA ACTIVITIES and ASSIGN TO AN INTERVENTION GROUP based upon topic, concept, or standard deficit identified in step # 3. Provide ample time for students to work on activities and encourage them to retry activities if they do not achieve 80% or better.
5. IMPLEMENT RTI ACTION PLAN
Put the RTI action plan into motion and stick with it! Implement cooperative learning groups, based upon data. Differentiate instruction for the varying levels of intervention groups. Provide small-group re-teach opportunities. PROGRESS MONITOR INTERVENTION GROUP PROGRESS and individual student progress. HOLD 1:1 DATA CHATS WITH STUDENTS.
