Manual Data Roster Guide Follow
1. Create the 2 .csv files as described in the Manual Rostering Details provided below. Click the images to download and save a copy of the template files.
2. Email support@pendalearning.com to request a secure folder to upload the files.
3. Upload the files to the secure folder, then email support@pendalearning.com when complete.
Manual Rostering Details
- We are requesting 2 files: (1) STUDENT AND TEACHER.CSV, (2) SCHOOL ADMIN.CSV.
- Note that while you do not need to include data for the columns listed as “Optional Information”, your spreadsheet must include those column headers.
STUDENT AND TEACHER.CSV FILE – Rosters students in classes.
Required Fields:
- Student First Name
- Student Last Name
- Student Grade Level
- Student Username – Must be unique for each student, can be the student email.
- Teacher First Name
- Teacher Last Name
- Teacher Email
- Official Course Title – Used to create the course in the Penda platform
- Course Grade Level
- Period/Section Number
- School Name
Optional Fields:
- Student Password – If left blank, the password will be the same as the username, and students can change their password after logging in for the first time.
- Student Middle Name
- Student Gender – free text, i.e. M, F, X
- Student DOB – MM/DD/YYYY
- Student Ethnicity – only use: ”Asian Pacific”, ”Black”, “Hawaiian”, “Hispanic”, “White” or “Multi-Racial”)
Optional Co-Teacher Fields: Use these fields to grant another teacher access to the class. Co-teachers will be able to create groups, assign activities, and view student scores.
- Co-Teacher First Name
- Co-Teacher Last Name
- Co-Teacher Email
Notes:
- Do not combine multiple fields into a single column (e.g., keep “First Name” and “Last Name” in separate columns).
- To enroll a student in multiple classes, use the same “Unique ID” for each entry. The first row will create the student account; each additional row will assign that student to an additional class.
Example file:
SCHOOL ADMIN.CSV FILE – Creates accounts for Principals, Assistant Principals, and those who need access to all student data.
Required Fields:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Role – i.e. Principal, Assistant Principal, Science Coach
School Name
Notes:
- Admin account passwords will initially be set to the user’s email address. Users will be prompted to create a new password upon their first login.
Example File:
Once files are compiled and complete, please upload them to the secure folder your school has been provided then email support@pendalearning.com to inform us that files have been submitted. Be sure to include the full school name in your email.
