A student can participate in 2 leaderboard challenges within their account - an individual leaderboard and a community leaderboard.
Individual Leaderboard (private)
The individual leaderboard is made up of up to 10 friends the student can select of his/her choice. Student's friends avatars appear across the bottom of the Penda World. Friends will never know if they have been selected or removed from a student's Penda World - they do not receive friend or unfriend notices and there is no way of them knowing through the Penda platform.
Friends with the most points will appear on the right hand side of the screen while those with the least amount of points will be more toward the left.
Lowest amount of points ----------------------------------------------------> Most amount of points
Community Leaderboard (public)
If the student has selected to be part of the community leaderboard, they will be ranked among all students within the same grade level based upon points earned. The top 10 students will always appear on the leaderboard. If a student is ranked 11th or lower, the student will see their position ranking as well as the position directly above and below their ranking.
For example, a student who ranks 75th of all grade 8 students will see their ranking in position 75 along with their point value. They will also see position 74 and 76 along with their point values. That way, the student knows how many points they must earn to move into the next highest position, and how many points they lead the student that's directly below their position.
