How to Assign Activities and Assessments (Teacher)
Overview
This guide explains how to create and manage assignments. Assignments can be standard practice activities or assessments with stricter settings.
Step 1: Navigate to Assignments
- Go to the Teacher tab in the left navigation bar.
- Click Assignments in the menu.
- Select New Assignment.
Step 2: Name Your Assignment
- Enter a clear and recognizable name.
- This name appears on students’ dashboards and in teacher/admin reports.
- (Optional) Include the standard number for quick reference.
Step 3: Choose the Assignment Type
Standard Assignment
- For regular activities and mini assessments.
- Allows students to review and retry.
- Customizable settings available.
Assessment Assignment
- Used for formal assessments.
- Students cannot review or retry.
- No customization options (simulates a traditional test).
Step 4: Schedule the Assignment
- Assign immediately or schedule for a future.
- Click OK after selecting the start and due dates.
- Default settings:
- Standard Assignments: Due two weeks from start date.
- Assessments: 2-hour time limit.
Step 5: Choose the AI Grading Option
- By default, AI-generated grading is enabled for all subjective questions. You can toggle it off if preferred. If you disagree with the auto-generated scores, you can manually adjust them as needed.
- Click Continue.
Step 6: Select Classes
- Choose the class(es) receiving the assignment.
- Assigning to multiple classes creates a super assignment (aggregates student scores into one report).
Step 7: Select Activities
- Browse folders for full-course and test prep activities or
- Search by standard number for targeted content.
- Click on “Favorites” and activities you’ve previously favorited will appear. This makes activity selection faster and more convenient.
Assigning Activities
- Move activities from the Available column to Selected.
- Drag to rearrange the activity order.
- (Optional) Toggle Require Mastery on/off.
- Click Remove to delete an activity.
- Click Continue when finished.
Step 7: Finalize & Assign
- Review assignment details.
- Click Finish.
- The assignment appears in the Assignments tab.
Managing Assignments
- Click More Info to view details.
- View, edit, or delete assignments.
- Note: Once a student starts an assignment, you can only extend the due date—other changes are locked.
