How to Create and Edit Classroom Intervention Groups
Intervention groups allow teachers to differentiate instruction by grouping students of similar ability levels. This makes it easy to assign targeted activities and monitor progress for specific subsets of a class (e.g., RTI Tier 2 or Tier 3).
Create a Group
Step 1 - Navigate to a class
- Navigate to My Classes and select the desired class.
- Under the Class section, click on Groups
Step 2 - Create a Group
- Click on the New Group icon
.
- Name the Group - Enter a clear, recognizable name (e.g., "Period 1 - Red Group" or "Standard SC.5.P.8.1 Intervention").
- Add students - Click the plus icon
to add a student to the group, or the remove icon
to remove students from a group.
- Click Create to finalize.
Edit a Group
Step 1 - Navigate to a class
- Navigate to My Classes and select the desired class.
- Under the Class section, click on Groups
Step 2 - Edit a group
- Click on the edit icon
next to the group you want to edit.
- Add or Remove students - Click the plus icon
to add a student to the group, or the remove icon
to remove students from a group.
- Click Update to finalize.
Pro-Tips for Teachers
- Students can be in multiple groups if needed.
- Students will not see the group name.
