How to Search, Preview, and Favorite Activities

Overview

Teachers can fully preview activities before assigning them to their classes. This allows them to:

• Review activities before assigning them.
• Project activities on their whiteboard to model how students should work through and complete them successfully.

Step 1 - Accessing Activities

1. On the Home Page, locate the left-hand navigation menu.

2. Under the Content section, click Activities.

Step 2 - Searching for an Activity

There are three primary ways to find content tailored to your lesson plan:

1. Search Bar: Enter a specific benchmark or standard number (e.g., SC.5.P.8.1) to find aligned activities instantly.

   • Filters: 

     • Click the Globe icon  to search across all content available in your Penda subscription, including other grade levels. This is useful for remediation or enrichment.

     • Click the Paper icon to restrict your search to the specific product currently selected in your dropdown menu.

     • Product Folder

       • Limit results to a specific product. Folders update automatically when products change.

2. My Favorites : Locate activities you have previously marked as favorite. How to Search, Preview, and Favorite Activities
    

3. Manual Browse : Use the folder hierarchy to navigate by Grade-Band (e.g., Elementary), Grade Level, and Body of Knowledge.

Previewing an Activity

Before assigning a task, use the preview feature to understand the student experience:

1. Locate your desired activity and click the Activity View icon to open the preview.
2. Move screen by screen through the activity.

Show Explanation

• Toggle on, then click on the Explanation icon to view an explanation of why an answer is correct or incorrect

Show Answers

• Toggle ON: Displays correct answers (ideal for teacher review).

• Toggle OFF: Hides answers (ideal for projecting on a whiteboard to model the activity for the class).

Favoriting an Activity

Save time during the assignment creation process by "starring" your go-to activities:

1. Click the Add to Favorites icon on any activity card.

Using Favorited Activities

When you reach Step 3 of the "Create New Assignment" wizard, your favorited activities will appear in their own dedicated section, allowing for rapid selection without additional searching.
