Manage PAS Plans - Turn PAS on/off and Modify Assignment Settings

The article explains managing PAS Plans by toggling them on or off per class, affecting future assignments without removing existing ones. Teachers can opt in or out to receive upcoming assignments. It also covers updating assignment settings to control student permissions like retrying activities, reviewing work, accessing assignments post-deadline, using Immersive Reader, and disabling teacher options like auto-grading subjective questions.

Turn a PAS Plan On or OFF

Step 1. Navigate to the PAS Plan

  1. Navigate to My Classes and select the desired class period.
  2. Under the Class section, click on PAS Plans
    *If there are no PAS Plans listed, your school or district may not participate in the service. Contact Penda Support to verify.

Step 2. Turn PAS Plan On or Off

  1. Use the toggle button next to the PAS Plan to turn it on or off. 

Additional Rules

  • If teachers Opt Out, the class will not receive the next scheduled assignment and future assignments.  It does not remove already assigned PAS assignments from the student's assignment list. 

  • If teachers Opt In, the class will receive the next scheduled assignment and future assignments. It does not issue PAS assignments prior to the date the Opt In selection was made.

  • PAS Plans are managed per class. If you have multiple classes, you will need to turn on or off for each class.

Change Default Enabled Assignment Settings 

Step 1. View the PAS Plan

  1. Navigate to My Classes and select the desired class period.
  2. Under the Class section, click on PAS Plans
    *If there are no PAS Plans listed, your school or district may not participate in the service. Contact Penda Support to verify.
  3. From the PAS Plans screen, click on the view icon next to the PAS Plan to View PAS Plan.

Step 2. Change Assignment Settings for future assignments. 

  1. From the View PAS Plan screen, click on the Assignment Settings icon to adjust:

Allowing students to:

- Retry Activities

- Review Own Work

- Access the Assignment After It’s Due

- Use Immersive Reader

Disabling teacher advanced options:

- Auto grade subjective question types (Essays, Texts)
