How to Use the Immersive Reader and Language Translator Tools
Each Penda activity includes an Immersive Reader tool to enhance the reading experience and support students of all abilities.
How to Access the Immersive Reader and Language Translator Tools:
- Open any Penda activity.
- Click the blue headphones icon
in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
- Click the Play button
in the right side split screen to hear the words read aloud.
Adjust Reading Speed and Voice
- Click on the Voice Settings icon
- Select a male or female
- Adjust the reading speed
Text Preferences - 
- Change text size and font style
- Add color overlays to support students with dyslexia or vision difficulties
Visual Support and Language Translation - 
- Reading Preferences - Line focus highlights sections to reduce distractions
- Translation Available in over 100 languages - Any Penda activity can be translated into a student’s preferred language. Make sure the toggle button is turned on for the whole document.
- Text-to-speech in the selected language - The reader will also read the text aloud in the chosen language.
- Visual Dictionary - Students can click on a word to see a picture representation and translation.

Pro-Tips for Teachers
