Quick Reports: How to View and Download Progress Reports (Admin) Follow
How to View and Download Progress Reports (Admin)
The Progress Report provides insight into both school-wide or district-wide average performance over time and individual student performance on Penda activities over time. This report allows admins to track student engagement, activity completion, and—most importantly—mastery of content.
Why Mastery Matters More Than Usage Time
Mastery of activities—not just time spent on the platform—has the strongest correlation with improved high-stakes assessment scores. While students may log hours without meaningful engagement, those actively working toward mastery see real academic growth. As you review reports, focus on mastery and proficiency rather than usage time to fully understand Penda Science’s impact on student outcomes.
The Progress Report provides an overview of school, class, group and student progress, including:
Engagement Hours: Total time spent by the school.
Hours Per Student: The average time each student has spent on activities.
Active Students: The count of students who have logged in and completed work.
Average Score: The average score for activities completed for the selected timeframe.
Average Mastery: Average score for all completed activities
Completed Activities: Number of completed activities
Mastery levels: Visual indicators for Not mastered, partially mastered, or mastered
Usage: Time spent in and out of school.
⚠️ Note: Data on this report refreshes nightly and does not reflect real-time activity.

Adjusting the Date Range & Searching for Students
Before diving into the settings panel, you can control the timeframe and find specific individuals using the top menu bar:
Date Filters: Click the date fields at the top to select the start and end dates for your report timeframe.
Search Bar: Use the Search box next to the dates to quickly type in a specific student's name to pull up their records instantly.
Settings Panel
General Filter Options
Products: Click the Products dropdown at the top of the panel to select specific products, for example elementary, to include in your report.
Show Records with No Activity Toggle: Turn this toggle on to include students who haven't completed any assignments during the selected timeframe, or turn it off to only see active students.
Include Withdrawn Students Toggle: Toggle this on if you need to review historical data for students who have since been withdrawn from your classes or groups.
Narrowing Your Data Sources
Scroll down to the DATA SOURCES section to isolate specific groups of students:
Toggle Buttons (Enable/Disable Categories): Use the toggle switches next to Classes, Org Groups, or Teacher Groups to completely enable or disable that entire category of data from your report. Turning a toggle off will exclude that data source entirely.
Dropdown Menus (Selecting Specific Items): When a toggle is turned on, click the corresponding dropdown menu below it (e.g., 1 class, Org groups, or Teacher groups). This opens a list where you can check or uncheck specific classes or groups to pinpoint exactly whose data you want to display.
District and Account Admins: Dropdown Menus are only available if you selected to view data for a specific school first. If you are in the Account view, you can download the report and apply filters.
💡 Important: Once you have customized your selections, simply click the blue APPLY button at the bottom of the panel to update your report view. Note: You may need to scroll right to see all data.
Organizing the Main Table (Sorting by Headings)
Once your data updates on the screen, you can easily reorganize how it looks:
Sorting by Headings: Click on any of the column headers in the student table (such as STUDENT, GRADES, TEACHER, CLASS, PERIOD, or AVERAGE MASTERY). Clicking a heading will sort the entire list in ascending or descending order based on that column, making it easy to group students by teacher, class period, or performance levels.
