Quick Reports: How to View and Download a Line-Item Analysis Report (Admin)
The Line-Item Analysis Report helps you review student performance for each activity assigned, question-by-question. This allows you to quickly identify learning gaps and reteach as needed.
The Line-Item Analysis Report provides a granular view of student performance on specific activities. It includes:
Question-by-Question Data: A detailed breakdown of how each student answered every specific "line-item" (question) within an assignment.
Performance Indicators: Color-coded or numerical data showing correct vs. incorrect answers.
Class Averages: Summarized data for the entire class to identify which specific questions or concepts were most difficult.
⚠️ Note: Data on this report refreshes nightly and does not reflect real-time activity.
Step 1: Accessing the Line-Item Analysis Report
School Admin:
- On the left navigation bar, under the Organization menu click Quick Reports.
- Select Line Item Analysis.

Search Bar: Use the search bar to select a specific standard or activity.
Settings Panel
General Filter Options
Show Records with No Activity Toggle: Turn this toggle on to include students who haven't completed any assignments during the selected timeframe, or turn it off to only see active students.
Include Withdrawn Students Toggle: Toggle this on if you need to review historical data for students who have since been withdrawn from your classes or groups.
Narrowing Your Data Sources
Scroll down to the DATA SOURCES section to isolate specific groups of students:
Toggle Buttons (Enable/Disable Categories): Use the toggle switches next to Classes, Org Groups, or Teacher Groups to completely enable or disable that entire category of data from your report. Turning a toggle off will exclude that data source entirely.
Dropdown Menus (Selecting Specific Items): When a toggle is turned on, click the corresponding dropdown menu below it (e.g., 1 class, Org groups, or Teacher groups). This opens a list where you can check or uncheck specific classes or groups to pinpoint exactly whose data you want to display.
District and Account Admins: Dropdown Menus are only available if you selected to view data for a specific school first. If you are in the Account view, you can download the report and apply filters.
💡 Important: Once you have customized your selections, simply click the blue APPLY button at the bottom of the panel to update your report view. Note: You may need to scroll right to see all data.
Organizing the Main Table (Sorting by Headings)
Once your data updates on the screen, you can easily reorganize how it looks:
Sorting by Headings: Click on any of the column headers in the student table (such as ACTIVITY, STANDARDS, TYPE, or AVERAGE SCORE). Clicking a heading will sort the entire list in ascending or descending order based on that column, making it easy to identify activities or standards that may need remediation.
Step 3: Download Data
For a specific activity: Click on the download icon to view specific student data for an activity.
Average Score for multiple activities: Use the blue Download Report button at the top right of the screen to download a high level report of activities and their Average Score.
Understand Mastery Indicators
Average Mastery Scores are color-coded for quick reference:
🟩 Green: 80% and above (Mastered)
🟨 Yellow: 60–79% (Partially Mastered)
🟥 Red: Below 59% (Not Yet Mastered)
Pro-Tips for Admins
Admins use this report to drive data-informed instruction in the following ways:
Identify Misconceptions: Look for specific questions where a large percentage of the class struggled. This allows you to target those specific "line-items" for whole-group reteaching.
Differentiate Instruction: Group students based on similar performance gaps identified in the report for small-group intervention.
Review Specific Items: Use the report during class to project and review the most missed questions with students to discuss why certain answers were incorrect.
Sort by average scores to identify activities or standards that may need remediation.
