2025 Winter Updates
Active Users/Summary Page for District Administrators - Download Available
Previously Implemented functionality to easily track and view user activity, including the ability to view inactive users. A new widget called 'Active Users' has been added to the Account Summary page. Clicking 'Show More' opens a pop-up with the detailed statistics for teachers, site administrators and students. Utilize the date picker to choose a specific date range. The statistics are updated twice daily. This option is available for district administrators only. A download .csv feature has been added.
Assignments View Page Updates
Implemented improvements to the Assignment View page, enabling teachers and other Dashboard users to view an extended student assignment report directly on the page. This enhancement saves teachers time by allowing them to promptly view students' activity scores without navigating to another screen. Additionally, teachers can use the ‘Expand All’ option to see the activity scores of all students at once.
An additional column was added to the Students table on the Assignment View page, enabling teachers to view the assignment expiration date for each individual student.
Leaderboard Update:
A student will not be displayed on a leaderboard until at least 3 activities are completed by them.
Fall 2024 Updates
NGSS Activity Section Breaks
To reward students on the longer NGSS activities, new section breaks have been added between screens, and once a section is completed the students receive points. When a student completes a section, a confirmation pop-up appears, prompting the student to confirm completion. As soon as the student confirms, their answers are locked, and they earn a preliminary reward for the completed screens (credits and XP). Students can go back and review the content but can’t change their answers once it’s been submitted. Students and teachers will see their progress for each activity. These have been created to reward the students as they go and to encourage them to finish the activity strong.
Student UI Improvements
Updated the colors of score circles on assignment cards to reflect a student’s best score on each activity.
Immersive Reader Teacher Control
All students have access to immersive reader and language translator tools by default. Implemented on/off toggle for Immersive Reader & language translator in student’s profile on Dashboard. Teachers are now able to turn this functionality off by student.
Leaderboard High Score Enhancement
Updated leaderboard ranking logic to rank students with the same score higher if they achieved it earlier than their classmates.
Report Builder
Reworked the activities view on the left panel, switching from a 'tree view' to a 'list view' to maintain visibility of selected activities. This change simplifies interaction with the component and improves its usability.
Launched the Collaborative Mission
- Added features to set up the Planetary Mission – a global goal that allows students to contribute resources not only with their classmates but also with students from other schools. (Sneak peek prior to release!)
- Implemented a reward system – after completing the Planetary Mission all participants will receive a reward. Depending on the setup, it might be credits, an avatar item, or materials for the Collaborative Mission. (Sneak peek prior to release!)
- Enhancements for the maps – now the locations look much more detailed and interesting.
- Added videos for the chapters – after unlocking the new chapters, students can watch a short video that explains the storyline of the Collaborative Mission.
- Implemented Handshake mechanic. Now, students can help each other and reduce the time required for building assets by sending a request to their classmates anonymously. With just one click from the classmate's side, the timer is shortened by 2 minutes.
- Updated and simplified the tutorial, to make exploring the Space Craft world more enjoyable. Additionally, an explanation of the new Handshake mechanic has been added.
- Boosting student tools is now limited - teachers can boost students only once per day and quantity is limited to 1000.
- A Wiki link has been added to both the Dashboard and Student UI. The 'World' menu in the student interface now includes two sub-menu items: 'SpaceCraft' and 'Wiki.' On the Dashboard, the Wiki button is displayed on the SpaceCraft page. Students and teachers can now utilize the Wiki to learn more about the collaborative mission.
The new Create Assignment flow now includes Assessments!
- An assessment has a strict time limit for students to complete it, it does not allow them to review their work or retry completed activities.
- Updated the first step of the Create New Assignment flow. Teachers can now select a type of assignment, with two options available: Standard and Assessment.
- When creating a standard assignment, a teacher can control whether students can review their work, retry an activity, use the immersive reader, or access the assignment after it's due. A toggle is available for each option. For assessments, all toggles are off and disabled.
- Implemented an icon for assessment records on the Assignments page to enable teachers to easily identify assessments versus standard assignments. Additionally, a corresponding badge has been added to the top-right corner of the Assessment View page.
- Implemented a specific card view for assessments in the Student UI. The assessment card has several states. Once an assessment is started, a timer appears to inform students of the time remaining before the assessment expires. The timer is visible on both the assessment card and in the header of the activity view.
